– **No orphaned pages.** Every page that matters should have at least one internal link pointing to it from somewhere else on the site.

## Common Mistakes

– A flat structure with no real hierarchy, where every page links to every other page indiscriminately
– Important commercial pages buried deep with few or no internal links
– Blog content that exists in isolation, disconnected from the pages it should support

Map the current site’s structure, identify which pages should be the most important based on business value, and check whether the internal linking actually reflects that. Add links from relevant supporting content to the pages that need more authority.
